Tinley Park Plaza is an open-air shopping center located near the southeast corner of W. 159th Street and S. Harlem Avenue in Tinley Park, Illinois. The shopping center was originally constructed in the 70’s, and, as of 1.1.2020, includes tenants such as The Tile Shop, Walt’s Food Store and Dollar Tree. The development also includes two free-standing, multi-tenant commercial buildings.
This specific Project is a 9,120 S.F. free-standing, multi-tenant building located at the northwest corner of the development. D.Z.A.’s services included site planning, preparing construction documents, providing construction administration services during the course of construction, and, participating in the Entitlement Phase of the Project. D.Z.A.’s services also included preparing demolition drawings for a portion of the shopping center in order to accommodate construction of the multi-tenant building and to provide additional parking for the building. The concept for the design of the building exterior included Village Ordinance requirements and input provided by the Village Planner. Since the building is located at one of the entrances to the shopping center and in close proximity to Harlem Avenue, three sides of the building were designed as frontages with the fourth side (rear) designed to include the same materials (face brick) as the other sides. Original tenants in the building include Blaze Pizza, Dental Works and Noodles & Company.
