Project Narrative

D.Z.A.’s services for one of the phases of this development included site planning, preparing drawings for construction of shell building work and interior tenant build-out improvements for a 20,000 S.F. building for occupancy by Staples, preparing drawings for construction of a 9,450 S.F. multi-tenant building, and, providing construction administration services for the Staples and multi-tenant building. D.Z.A.’s services also included participating in the Entitlement Phase for both Projects. The design concept for the multi-tenant building incorporated several brick colors , cast stone and awnings to provide the aesthetics of a mainstreet appearance. Double-hung windows were strategically located to provide the appearance of a faux second floor. Since the building was located on LaGrange Road, all four sides of the building were designed as frontages.

The exterior design of the Staples building included face brick and ornamental cast stone set in a random/ashlar pattern. The unique feature of the Staples building was that it was constructed on geopiers due to poor soil conditions.
