D.Z.A.’s services for this Project included site planning, preparing drawings for construction of shell building work and interior tenant build-out improvements, and, providing construction administration services during the course of construction. In general terms, the construction documents were based on merging prototype requirements for both tenants with Village Ordinance requirements. The unique feature of this project was that part of the building was designed to include concrete caissons and a structural floor slab due to poor soil conditions. Building design features included a curtain wall system, curved steel beams and a pyramidal skylight for Wickes Furniture. Design features for La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries were considered more traditional and included EIFS, a box entrance canopy/signband, awnings and shutters.
