D.Z.A. Associates, Inc., established in 1993, is a retail-oriented architectural firm located in Oak Brook, Illinois. Its founders, Ralph Deluca, Jr. and Henry Zuwala, each, have over 35 years of professional experience in retail building design. This experience includes preparing site plans, performing architectural surveys, preparing construction documents and providing construction administration services on various projects that include interior tenant build-outs, new ground-up buildings, façade renovations for second generation-type Projects and subdividing existing single-tenant buildings for occupancy by multiple tenants.
Although D.Z.A.’s primary business model is retail architecture, D.Z.A.’s portfolio and experience also includes industrial, religious and business/office Projects.
The founders’ philosophy has been to manage D.Z.A. as a 5-10 person firm with attention devoted to quality over quantity. The experience levels of its personnel range from 3-5 years for CAD Technicians, 7-10 years for Project Captains and 10 years min. for Project Managers. D.Z.A. also networks with other firms and individuals to address workload demands as they develop.
