Rockland Plaza is an open-air shopping center located at the northwest corner N. Middletown Road and State Highway Route 59 in Nanuet, New York. Tenants located in the shopping center include Marshalls, Petco, Barnes & Noble, Dollar Tree, Panera Bread and various small shop tenants. The shopping center includes two separate in-line retail buildings and several free-standing buildings.
D.Z.A.’s scope of services for this Project included preparing drawings for construction of a new canopy/signband for both in-line retail buildings, and, preparing interior build-out drawings for Petco’s space. D.Z.A.’s services also included performing a site visit to document the locations of existing canopy columns, storefronts and canopy/signbands. Existing building materials included prefinished vertical metal panels and exposed steel tube columns. The new design included re-cladding the existing canopy/signband with EIFS and concealing the exposed steel columns with EIFS and masonry. The west leg of the shopping center was originally designed with a structural floor slab due to poor soil conditions. Interior build-out drawings for Petco’s space were designed to accommodate the structural slab and grade beams. D.Z.A.’s services also included preparing presentation drawings and participating in the Entitlement Phase of the Project.
